Housing

Living on campus offers many advantages and has been proven to enhance students' success at Ohio State.  We do our best to find the one right for you.

Campus housing is home to first-year and upperclass students.  All unmarried, full-time students within a year of high school graduation must live on campus, unless exempted, space is no longer available, or they are living with family. Advantages of on-campus housing include:

  • Convenient location to classes
  • Resident advisors are assigned to every floor to help with the transition to college and having roommates
  • Full-time professional staff live in each housing complex
  • The ability to develop lasting friendships and make lifelong memories
  • Opportunity for involvement in student life

Be sure to check out our Learning Communities section if you are interested in a special living arrangement based on academic, cultural, or lifestyle interests.  Additionally, we offer these living environments:

  • Academic-Year  (If you want to remain living in a residence hall between autumn and spring semester and over spring break, request this option.  There is an additional charge of $125 per year, and preference is given to international and out-of-state students. Includes Drackett, German House, Jones, Morrill, Morrison, Bradley, Lane Avenue, Paterson, Siebert, Neilwood Gables, Penn Place, Buckeye Village, Worthington/Neil buildings.)
  • Substance-Free (For students who agree to abstain completely from the use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco both on and off campus.  This is a special living community that promotes the development of a healthy lifestyle.)
