The Alumnae Scholarship Housing (ASH) program has offered a unique, cooperative-living and low-cost housing option for undergraduate women at The Ohio State University for more than 80 years. ASH aims to connect students with a variety of resources on campus while promoting individual growth and development. ASH women engage in regular initiatives that build a tight-knit community and foster cooperative spirit. ASH women also have regular interactions with ASH alumnae. The program consists of 49 women who reside in Fechko House, Hanley House and Pomerene House.

Expectations

  • 5-8 hours per week of house duties including meal planning, meal preparation, housekeeping and ordering supplies
  • Women must maintain a 2.8 cumulative GPA

ASH Application and Housing Due Dates for Incoming First-Year Students

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1, 2024.
  • A submitted Living-Learning Community Application is due by April 15, 2024. No late applications will be accepted. You do not have to wait until you are accepted to Ohio State and/or receive your housing contract to apply. 
  • Students will receive an update on their application status by April 30, 2024.
  • Please make sure your contract and space reservation fee are received no later than May 15, 2024 in order to ensure your eligibility to participate in a Learning Community. Housing Contracts are sent to your Ohio State email account based upon your paid acceptance to the University beginning in March.

ASH Application and Housing Due Dates for Current OSU Students

  • All first, second, and third year ASH participants who meet program requirements may indicate their interest in returning to ASH by completing the Living-Learning Community Application no later than February 12, 2024
  • In addition to completing the form, current second and third year students participating in ASH who wish to return to ASH must respond to the link sent by the Housing and Residence Education to confirm they intend to live on-campus for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Current OSU students who will be be in their second year during the 2024-2025 school year and are interested in joining ASH should complete the Living-Learning Community Application no later than February 12, 2024
  • Completing this application does not guarantee housing in an Ohio State Residence Hall or a specific room type. You must submit your reselection form by the Housing and Residence Education deadline in order to participate. Your housing reselection information will arrive at your OSU e-mail account at a later date. 
  • Students will receive an update on their LC application status by February 16, 2024. In order to select a room within ASH during the housing reselection window, students must have a 2.8 GPA, be in good standing with program requirements for ASH and complete the FAFSA by March 15, 2024. Students who are interested in returning and meet other requirements, but do not currently meet GPA requirements can still apply and may be added at a later time pending spring semester GPA and space availability. 
  • Change of campus students must also contact Housing Assignments no later than February 1, 2024 at 614-292-8266 or housing@osu.edu to ensure they are included in the housing reselection process and eligible for Learning Community participation.
