ALL THE ADVANTAGES…
Living on campus offers many advantages and has been proven to enhance students' success at Ohio State. We do our best to find the one right for you.
Campus housing is home to first-year and upperclass students. All unmarried, full-time students within two years of high school graduation must live on campus, unless exempted, space is no longer available, or they are living with family. Advantages of on-campus housing include:
- Convenient location to classes
- Resident advisors are assigned to every floor to help with the transition to college and having roommates
- Full-time professional staff live in each housing complex
- The ability to develop lasting friendships and make lifelong memories
- Opportunity for involvement in student life

DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS
Student Life Housing and Residence Education staff works to accommodate the needs of students. Students requesting modifications to their housing as an accommodation for a disability should contact Student Life Disability Services. Students who need special assignment consideration not as a result of a disability and/or have a service animal or therapy animal are strongly encouraged to contact the Housing and Residence Education office to discuss housing options. Students can do this by emailing housing@osu.edu. For general questions about disability accommodations, contact Student Life Disability Services.
GENDER INCLUSIVE HOUSING
Student Life University Housing supports the academic and social success of all its residents. Within our diverse community of residence halls, University Housing affirms that one's dignity and uniqueness should be recognized and respected regardless of distinctions in identity. One of the ways we achieve this goal is by offering a wide range of on-campus housing options. In order to provide support for the needs of current and incoming LGBTQ students and others with specific needs, a gender-inclusive housing option is available.
Transgender students are valued members of the on-campus living community at Ohio State. New, first year incoming students are encouraged to contact the Housing and Residence Education office early in the housing request process to discuss housing options. In meeting the needs of the incoming student, Student Life University Housing will recognize and respect the gender identity the student has established with Housing. Staff will not ask for any more information than is required to meet the student’s housing needs, and all disclosed information will be kept strictly confidential.
